Hi, I have a dvd that i wanted to change the audio from Japanese to English on. Usually this is not a problem, nomally i demux with VobEdit, and add the new audio .ac3 using TMPGEnc DVD Auther and that usually works fine. But on this DVD, it demux's fine and it allows me to add the new .ac3 file and when i play the resulting VIDEO_TS folder on my computer there is no problem, but in my standalone DVD player there is no sound. I have tryed demuxing with different software and re-autherng with DVDLabPro, aswell as burning the video as a MPEG2 stream Data disc, and it seems no matter what i think of, the sound is fine on my computer but non existant on my DVD player. I have of course checked with other DVDs in my player and they all work fine so it seems the player is not the issue.

Im hopefull that someone here can provide me with some tips or advise on sorting out this problem, i would be very greatfull as it has really stumped me.

BTW the original file is a VIDEO_TS folder @ 3.6GB, if thats any help, if you need any more info to help just ask and i'll let you know, im just not sure what i need to mention so have tryed my best.

    Thankyou in advance.

Try the method in this guide.

Pay particular attention to step 5 and simply put your new audio file here in place of the original one. Yes this guide is for adding or changing subtitles, but the principal is the same and you can follow this guide to simply replace the audio and not have to re-author anything.

@jman98, i tryed that method and was still unsucessfull sadly, but thanks for trying.

@guns1inger, the original audio format was .mp3 which i then converted to .ac3 so i could add it to the DVD with TMPGEnc.
Im sorry im, not quite sure what you mean by Menu format? There is no disc menu, if thats what you mean. If not maybe you could tell me how i could find out what you want to know.

    Cheers

How'd you do that? Which programs did you use? The problem's probably with the AC3 audio you created.

I used ""power mp3 amr wav ac3" ect," converter" to convert to AC3, if there is a problem with the AC3 how can i solve that, i think i still have the original MP3.
Is there software that i can add MP3 audio to a demuxed M2v file or somthing like that?

    Cheers

Not and get it authored into a DVD there isn't.

Did you say you've done this the exact same way in the past and haven't had any problems with it playing in your standalone? I've never heard of your converter. I might suggest converting to PCM WAV audio first, followed by the use of Aften and its GUI for the conversion to AC3.
