  1. There is probably a logical explanation for this so I figured to post it here.

I am trying to play a .AVI file on my Samsung TV from my Dell computer. I have great picture thanks to the S-Video to component cable compliments of Dell, but what I get is a herky jerky playback. I am using Windows Media Player(please don't make fun) since it came installed with my laptop, so maybe that is the problem.

    I'm not sure??

Is it just jerky when you play it connected to the TV? or on your monitor also?

You can try change the svideo output to the primary monitor to be able use overlay graphic acceleration.
Or try play with VLC Media Player, it has builtin codecs.

  3. It is just jerky on my TV screen. On my laptop it plays fine.

I will try VLC and get back to yah, as your 1st suggestion has me stumped, lol.

  4. VLC did the trick. I also set the resolution on monitor 2(TV) to the highest setting.

    Thanks for the help!
