Your english is slightly tilted, but I'll see if I can help you my friend.
You are running Leopard 10.5.1.
You have it installed on a Macbook Pro, 2.4ghz Intel Core Duo.
You have 4GB of ram.
You do not mention how big of a HD, or how much HD space you have
available ( we need to know)
You do not mention what app you are using to burn Dual layer media
( we also need this, whether its Toast 8 or the Finder)
You say you are using Dual Layer DVDs, but you do not mention
the brand ( VERY IMPORTANT) or if they are -R or +R (AGAIN, VERY IMPORTANT)
Nothing has changed much with Leopard over Tiger. The finder still
doesn't burn DL media any better, which is why we recommend
using Toast Titanium 8, version 8.03. Also, we recommend using +R,
rather than -R for DL media, and Verbatim is the best, most
reliable brand of DL media on the market. Other brands, such
as HP or Memorex, are often flaky, and badly produced.
Post back info and we can help further if necessary...."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

hi,
thanx ..
i use toast 8.0.3 with verbatim +rdl, or 4.7-rdvd.
80gb free space.
i would say that apple has implemented something to pervent burning dvd's from former copy protected ...
now i found the solution: external usb dvd burner; i just bought one and immedeatly had sussess with my "problem" (die-hard) best quality without artefakes ... -
You say:
from former copy protected
rip them to the HD first using MacTheRipper.
Then you burn them to disc.
Apple has never had the ability (natively, without third party apps)
to burn copy protected DVDs.
Better solution: get a Firewire DVD Burner, which gives you sustained
throughput to the DVD Drive, and allows you to burn at higher speeds.
USB DVD drives have been flaky for me, causing buffer underruns
at high speeds ( above 8x burning)."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

i use mtr since years, have the latest (not 2.6.6) .. , was betatester and found out, that some dvd's need a adhesive-cover on the inner circle to get mtr start decrypt ..
the "funny " thing is, that also with xp (bootcamp) the same happens, destroyed +rdl or outcoming -r not destroyed; +rdl starts burning, -r nothing happens.
dvd data allways decrypted before ... -
I'm curious...what DVDs need a "adhesive cover on the inner ring"?
I've never had that problem ripping the discs I own.
Can you give some examples?
Also, Could this not have been more so an issue with your
internal burner than needing to modify the discs to rip?
I'm sure if that had been the case, it would have been reported
far and wide A LONG TIME AGO.......
more and more, this points to an issue with your internal burner,
and laptop's Matush*ta made drives are often suspect."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."
