I'm looking to download music videos. I've been very lucky in that some of the videos I'm after, I can find in very good quality in various music sites.
But, there are some videos that only can be found on YouTube.
Is there any way to "clean up" or improve the quality of videos off YouTube?
Right now I'm converting all videos to WMV to burn on a disk using Movie Maker.
I know I can probably burn in other formats, but WMV is easiest for me using VLC.
So if I d/l a video off YouTube in FLV, convert to WMV, will the quality which isn't
the best to begin, be even worse?
Here is a video I'm after. With some googling, I found it on WMV format.
Looks like someone d/led from Youtube and converted.

If you want better quality you need to find a better source than youtube. You maybe could use some filter like deblock , http://www.compression.ru/video/deblocking/smartdeblocking_en.html , but it's not really worth it as it wont look that much better, more blurry.

Have you tried other download sources such as torrents or emule? I frequently use emule and you can find about anything. It often isn't very fast, but you will likely find better material.

thanks for brining that up.
no i haven't used any torrent sites for d/ling.
how is the quality of the videos found on torrent sites?
i guess i've stayed away from torrents because i keep
picturing youtube like quality. -
Youtube quality usually sucks because any file submitted (even a decent quality mpeg/avi) gets converted to a low res flv (for storage space and streaming reasons). If you want quality files, you need to look elsewhere. Your best bets would be newsgroups or file sharing apps (torrents or emule), even multiformat tools can be useful (Shareaza for example, or IRC), the options are endless. File quality will range from DVDrips to crappy youtube flv files (basically the same range you are seeing now from other sources). Most often, the files are average to better quality as most users don't waste their time sharing crap unless there are no other versions available.

just downloaded and install emule.
i thought it was something like kazaa but i don't think it is.
so on emule you can only download one file at a time?
is this right or am i doing something wrong here.
i'm getting a music video and it is saying 5 hrs to download?
that is a long time.
i sure hope i'm doing something wrong that someone will correct me on.
thanx
