  1. I am trying to back up this movie with ripit4me and it tries to recognize the disc and just crashes. This is the first movie I have noticed this on. It works fine on other movies but this one is giving me a heck of a time. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what did you do to back it up. Thanks

  2. Same here. The first error message I get is "video_ts.ifo declares 762 VTS, and I'm only finding 3 on the disk......................" I click on OK and it proceeds a little further, then brings up the same error again. I click on OK again and it starts DVD Decryptor and during "Parsing IFO files" it hangs on VTS_07_0.ifo, then comes back with the I/O Error in decryptor.

I notice that the copy protection is CSS/CPPM. Is this a new encryption?

By the way, mine is NOT HDD or Blue Ray. Just the standard DVD.

Must be something special about this disc. The latest AnyDVD 6.2.0.1 (released today) specifically mentions Hairspray:

"Fix (DVD): CSS and APS problem with certain discs, e.g. "Hairspray", US"

Edit: I just saw a post over on doom9 saying that the latest DVDFab HD Decrypter will back it up. It's a free program.

I am still using using steam to run my car, but I find that after I shovel in the coal and light it, the car just burns to a cinder. My old car used to work on steam. What I am I doing wrong ?

As good as RipIt4Me was, and as useful as DVD Decrypter still is for certain jobs, it is time to admit that these tools are no longer useful for ripping new releases, especially in the US market. Asking "why don't they work ?" after all this time is about as smart as asking why it hurts when you hit yourself in the face with a hammer.

If you want to stick with DVD Decrypter, just run AnyDVD in the background. This is what I've been doing since the newer protections such as ARccOS came out. Slysoft currently has a 20% off discount until November 25th (coupon code: Thanksgiving). 21-day trial. Lifetime updates. I am not a shill; there's just not many companies doing the work necessary to help us keep our usage rights to the media we purchase, especially with AACS, MKBv4 and BD+. I want Slysoft (and Fengtao) to stay in business.

I've never used DVDFab HD Decrypter but I'm glad it's there in case the MPAA orders its U.S. politicians to invade Antigua to shut down Slysoft.

DVD Fab HD Decrypter will work on the decrypt in Movie mode (didn't try full backup).

Shrink fails at 37% on encoding (even on 100% quality).

  7. DVDFab DeCryptor and DVDFab Platinum handle "Hairspray" (R1 Widescreen) in full just fine.

This title is loaded with extra nonsense - autorun executables, file directories, structure which is non-compliant with dvd format standards, programs that want to install themselves on your computer, etc. My advice to anyone considering buying this is DON'T BUY IT! If you get one and it misbehaves in any fashion on your computer, return it as defective. It's not worth owning or permitting near your computer - I suggest you stay away from it.
