DVR DVD Burner

I don't know if this is the right forum to ask, but I have a subscription to Dish network. I also bought the DVR from them that supports high definition. My question is this. I recorded a lot of movies from the movie channels, some in high definition, some not. I want to know what the different DVR burner that support high definition are. This has nothing to do with computers. I don't want to capture anything, just want to have a standalone DVR burner that I can plug into the DVR and start burning movies off the DVR to DVD. I'd also like this dvd burner to be native 1080p burnable, and not upscaling.

There are currently no standalone "DVR burners" available in the USA market that support recording to optical discs in true HD (High Definition). They are only just now becoming available in Japan in the $2200 price range. They will not likely be marketed in America until the price comes down below $500. For now, you can buy an ordinary DVD recorder and connect it to your Dish box, this will let you record standard-definition (not HD) DVD discs of whatever you want to save from Dish network. To record in genuine High Definition today requires a computer with a Blue Ray HD disc burner. The burner alone costs about $500 and the software for creating the discs is not perfected yet, there are many issues that are tricky to handle if you aren't an expert in authoring software.

If you want to make your own true HD-quality discs, you will need to be patient awhile and wait for the technology-availability-prices to stabilize.
