label making

What's the best way to label CDs? I know the fastest - with Sharpie.
Should I buy a special printer (if so, what make?) or a label printer, SW, stomper, etc.?
Ideally I'd like to print titles, names, etc. and/or copy existing labels if available (I own a scanner).
Please advise or refer me to... . I tried our Search but found nothing.

Light-scribe burner or a Casio Thermal burner are the easiest..
DON'T USE STICK ON LABELS............

I've seen nice results with both inkjet and thermal printing. Avoid stick-ons, since they can cause balance problems, and are very good at peeling the silvering off a CD.

I'm cheap: I use felt markers.

I am not real familiar with CD's but for DVD's, I am getting excellent results with an HP D5160, Acoustica Label Maker Software and Verbatim DVD-R White Inkjet Hub Printable Discs.

LightScribe is a little slow for full labels and takes special media, but there's a lot of burners that have the option, so it may be the cheapest. http://www.lightscribe.com/
