I was trying to backup Ice Age 2 as its getting a lot of use from the kids and I'm a little confused. I have DVDFab Platimum and when I ripped it, there seems to be two titles (1 & 60) both 1hr 30mins. First I thought it may be that one is for widescreen and the other for fullscreen, but unchecking one of them did not reduce the total size for backup. I was trying to keep the extras. Why are there 2 titles for the movie? and would unchecking one of them help in anyway? What is the best way to back it up with keeping the extras?

    Thanks in advance

I would guess it's because of multi-angle that it reports two titles. Have you just tried shrink it ans see whta happens?

No I have not tried shrinking yet as the DVD quality would be around 50% and I wanted to see what I can remove to increase that to at least 70%. There seems to be a lot packed into this dvd.

Hi ripp the DVD to your harddrive and open it with dvdshrink.

Choose reauthor mode and choose one of the titles.

after that untick unwanted audio tracks or subtitles...

In the end there shouldnt be any need for shrinking...

If you dont know how to do this take a look in the guides section.

I'm trying to remember, but I think my version has a directors/actors commentary video track. You can try previewing the two titles in Shrink and see. Most of the time the first listed title is the correct one. I would Shrink it to your hard drive first, then preview that before burning. VLC or other players can properly play back a VIDEO_TS folder from a hard drive, including menus, etc.
