Hello all

Recently been using ffmpegx to convert lots of different videos so I can watch them on my PS3. All is working fine - 99.9% of everything I throw at ffmpegx converts without issue but last night I ran into a problem. I downloaded a couple of HD (1080i) clips to try out full HD on my PS3 and although they converted fine with ffmpegx only the sound actually plays on the PS3 - the screen itself stays blank.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can try? I've been able to play 1080i clips downloaded from PSN no problem.

For info, the two clips are as follows:

Clip #1: .ts extension - VLC shows stream 0 as 'mpgv' and stream 1 as 'a52'
Clip #2: .mov extension - QuickTime shows Sound Track as AAC and Video Track as H.264

I converted both to PS3 using a preset provided by major (I think) on this forum, just with the 'Use QuickTime' option enabled

Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Would love to see these clips in full on my 37" plasma!

Quick update:

On a whim I simply added .mpg extensions to the two files. Clip #2 (the .MOV) wouldn't play on the PS3 but amazingly the other clip did, only without sound. I tried converting clip 1 to DivX as the PS3 can now play certain DivX files thanks to the 2.10 update but ffmpeg's converted file had no sound with it. What am I doing wrong?
