MPEG2 in chains on my PC

Hi people! i have a problem and i d want that u help me.
I have a video mpeg2 that I converted from AVI using WINAVI but it in the final of the process it got biger than 4.7Gb.So I tried reconvert it ,MPEG to AVI,but I didnt got.Always appear a error message in WINAVI when do it.If want edit it I cant too cause CPU process for a long time e never stops. So I have now a video in chains in my PC that I cant neither record or compress it.
What can i do?

You can start by throwing away WinAVI because it is rubbish.

You can then start doing some reading of guides to understand what it is you are doing, and why what you have done to date is so wrong.

Size is determined by the running time of the video, and the bitrate it is encoded to. WinAVI has obviously screwed this up, hence the file being too large to burn.

The solution is not encode you mpeg video back to AVI and try again. That just wastes time and reduces the quality.

If you just have an mpeg file, you can use rejig to reduce to fit much faster than WinAVI can do it. If you have a DVD structure then you can use DVD Shrink to make it fit.

If, as often happens with WinAVI, you have a complete pile of crap as a result, your solution is to delete it, and go back to the original AVI file and encode again with a good encoder.

If you want a fast, reliable solution with reasonable quality, look at ConvertXtoDVD. If you want better quality and are prepared to wait for it, look at FAVC or perhaps DVD Flick.

But don't waste time trying to salvage what WinAVI has produced. Start again using good software instead.
