playback after dvd authoring

i am using ner0 6 burning rom and when i burn dvds(vob files) and i play them back on a dvd player approx 5 mins in to the film the video freezesor pixelates but normally continues to play.
if i burn dvd-/+rw this doesnt happen.
i think the problem is caused when nero launches the second buffer as the percentage of the burn state arond 3% (using 4x speed)and the 5mins into the dvd sort of correspond.
if i use a faster burn rate(8x) the pause is at approx 10 mins.
if i use a used -RW the speed is only 2x and erases first so the second buffer is sort of launched before the main burn takes place.
i am probably correct with the cause but am looking for a remedy if anyone has come across this problem? i am using a hp pavilion pc with standard dvd burner

I would try the freeware ImgBurn instead of Nero. Use 'Build' mode, add your VIDEO_TS folder and burn.

But you can post your Nero burn log here and we could take a look at it. Be sure to edit out your Nero serial number. (Usually at the top of the log file.)

thanx i will try this.should i uninstal nero or just use this program additionaly?

i tried this and it still seems the same which leads me to think its the burner hp740b i believe there are issues with this burner.i might try upgrading the firmware
