  1. I got AFK DVD-101 DVD-player and very often playback freezes for a while and player makes reading/searching sound. Sometimes this happens just once or twice and sometimes several times during the movie. Can it be because of dirty/dusty reading head or is it just a player itself? I know that AFK is not the most quality one player.

Does anyone else with AFK 101 got similar problems?

Original discs or burned discs? If they are originals, then it is a player issue (dirty or faulty). If they are burned discs, then the disc brand/type is likely the issue.

  3. Original discs. I haven't noticed this kind of issues with burned discs. It doesn't always happen with originals either. I have now watched 2 movies without any (major) problems. Is there any differences in original DVD-discs, that some discs might be more vulnerable to playback problems than others?

Anyway, i'm thinking to buy a another player.

There are two types, SL and DL, though as far as original discs go, they should all be playable. Typically, when there is a playback issue with original discs, it is a hardware issue (laser or laser tracking related).
