Guys,
I'm in the market for a new camera. I have a VHS C (JVC GR AX-10) that is pretty old, but it is ok. Is Hi8mm a better resolution, therefore better quality for capturing than VHS? I have found a good deal at Circuit City a Canon Hi8 camcorder (Canon ES60) for $230.00 was thinking about getting it, I am not in the market for a DV camcorder......
Thanks...
Wraith

Hi8mm has high quality, but if you want to make SVCD, you should have a good capture card. DV is definetely the way to go for making SVCDs.

Oh one more thing. What resolution should I be capturing at if I am capturing from Hi8? What rez is Hi8 I think I read 400 somewhere. Does that mean I can't capture any higher, like say 480?
Thanks again.........
