i am fulltime videographer that mostly does weddings but some sports (soccer, lacrosse). i currently have a amd x2 4600, 2gb pc3200 ram, over 2tb of hdd space, 256mb pcie radeon x800xl video card, asus mainboard and using a pinnacle capture pci capture card. i going to build a new system before the end of the year and will be going with intel quad core cpu, 4gb ram, nvidia 8800 gts 320mb pcie video. i did not know if it would be worth the extra money to go with the Matrox RT.X2 card or stick with my current pinnacle for capturing and relying on cpu to do all the render work. i do use alot of filters and effects in premiere pro 2 and for a 2 hour clip with heavy filters and effects it takes up to 16 hours t orender on my current system. i also use canon xl2 and gl2 dv cameras and have not purchased canon's hd models but will in the next year or so. thanks in advance for any feedback.

Pros:
Excellent real-time preview and display for SD and HD, including full-resolution display of HD on HDMI monitor.
Cons:
Limited HDV export capabilities. No XLR audio. Projects must render for output.
Bottom Line:
The RT.X2 provides very nice monitoring options for HD footage, but needs better HDV output compatibility.
