I have two versions of the great B movie Piranah, one R1, fullframe but with great extras and the R2 which is in widescreen but without extras.
Is it possible to combine the two, using the video from the R2 and the extras from the R1, on one DVD using for example DVD shrink or any other program?

Yes. But using only DVDShrink (reauthor mode), you wont get a menu. If the R2 video and R1 extras fit one DVD, they can be authored together using TMPGEnc DVD Author (with menu). If not, shrink first, then reauthor.

You might be able to use VOBBlanker to replace just the main title, perhaps with PGCEdit to tidy things up afterwards. This will only work is the R2 version is NTSC and not PAL (R2 can be either). There are several guides for replacing different parts of DVDs on the VOBBlanker page in the Tools section (hint : click on the first reference to VOBBlanker in this post to get there)
