Hi Guys,
When using Sefy's guide and DVD2AVI 1.76/TMPGenc 2.52 to create VCDs it seems to work fine, but when I try to play the VCD back in any standalone DVD player the image playback randomly slows down dramatically and then jerks back at FFWD like speed with accompanying loss of audio synch
I have tried searching and lurking everywhere for an answer, perhaps some setting I have forgotten or something, but I am stumped, and I am hoping one of you guys can help out this poor newbie
Other than the aforementioned problems, the method works great, the image quality is nice and sound is of good quality, it's just this random jerkiness/synch thing on all discs I create that is driving me nuts...
My system is an Athlon XP 1600 (1.4ghz), 512Mb DDR, 60Gb WD HDD, Geforce2 MX400 running Win XP Pro - all pretty generic stuff that has always been rock-solid stability wise.
Thanks in advance...
Regards,
Bob.
Oops, almost forgot to mention that I am using Nero 5.5 to burn the VCDs and that the problem occurs in both NTSC(R1) and PAL(R2/4) rip/encodes.

I used to have this problem when using TMPG to cut my vcds and also when using nero.
Try de-multiplexing w/ TMPG and cutting/meltiplexing with bbmpeg. Also try to use VCDImager(GUI) to make a bin/cue and buring with CDRWin.
I dont know if this will help but ever since 'I' started using bbmpeg to cut and CDRWin to burn I have no real problems anymore.
-Hope this helps

NeWcS is right. Nero is a horrible choice (in my opinion) for burning SVCD's. I used to cut with tmpeg and burn with nero but switched to cutting with bbMpeg, creating bin/cue with VCDImagerGUI and burning with CDRwin 3.8D. As of yesterday, I started using TSCV (which is suprisingly similar to VCDEasy) to make my bin/cue files with great results.

I would also strongly recommand you do not use Nero (if you have used it) to burn VCD/SVCD, it's a great program for regular burning and I use it all the time, but when you do VCD/SVCD, I suggest you stick to the specific tools for this job.
