quarantine

hey trend micro keeps grabbing the vcd gear exe.file and quarantining it saying it is a worm pak0001 i think it says.I just got it new yesterday and can"t use it .its bieng ttreated as a virus for some reason and svcdtodvd don't work very well without an exe.file.anyone know why this keeps happening?its the only thing trend micro keeps bothering.

yeah,its been taken up with trend by the best buy geek squad when they could do nothing for it after hours.the file is vcdgear exe.other stuff i dont remember then on the end of the file was pak genesis or generic.0001 i guess and it shows as a worm and it had around nine other files in quarantined as currupted by the worm for some reason,my son went and downloaded the same one from svcd2dvd and e-mailed it to me a while ago and i tried it again from it and I installed it and trend micro grabbed it right back up and labeled it again as a pak worm.the geeks said it all needed removed because the worm was attached to the exe.and spreading.so its all off my computer for now and i'm kind stymied over this.

Well vcdgear.exe is only used for extrating mpegs from bin images... If you don't do this then you can just remove it. Also you could grab the file from the vcdgear website and use that version of the file instead - assuming that that file doesn't also get quarantined by your software.
