I've got a problem with my video card (I think). My monitor turns off momentarily and will then turn back on a sec or 2 later. This constant turning on and off is especially bad during start-up. I have hooked the monitor with cable to 2 other computers I have and it works fine, thus eliminating the monitor or cable as the problem. I have removed the video card and re-inserted a couple of times as well as blowing out the dust. Once the computer has been on for a while, it still turns off and on occasionally, but not so frequently.

I'm thinking video card, but could that also be a power supply problem?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem with my old PC.. in that case the cable socket on the computer was a bit wobbly and so if jogged or just felt like going the monitor would turn off.. opened the computer and fixed it... no more problems.

Could you be having the same thing?

It was the video card. Swapped cards with another computer to confirm. The one in question failed to work in a 2nd computer and the card from that computer worked fine in the first.
