ive had this dvd player as a backup player, i now want to use it but there is a problem i cant solve.

On the majority on dvd's i try to play, when the film starts it automatically puts subtiltes on and has no voice/speech sound just background noise. If i then restart the film with the subtitles off it still has no speech sound.

So basically on most dvd's i get no speech sound. Ive tried everything i can think of with the sound settings, its so fustrating as some older dvds play the speech sound fine so i dont think its a hardware problem.

    please help

    thanks

Welcome to the forums, but you make the same mistake most new members make. You think that saying less is better than saying more and you are wrong. Need more info here.

Your problem sounds like a surround sound issue, but you didn't tell us if you have a surround sound setup, if you've verified that it works and so on. I'd guess that somehow you are getting only the back channels on some DVDs that use true surround sound. It might be a DVD player configuration issue, a problem with your surround sound set up, maybe a speaker wire problem, and so on. Hard to say, but hopefully this will point you in the right direction. If you don't have a surround setup than see if your DVD player has a configurable option to change the sound from 5.1 to stereo.

I know nothing about this player and its quirks as this brand isn't sold in the USA.
