I have been recently reading about kdvd, some sort of file conversion, that will let me get up to 4/5 films on to a single dvd.

I was wondering basically how? What software shell i use, how to do it, and then will the file format be a mpg so i can use ulead dvd author to make my dvd.

    Thank You.

It's not a format, just a modification of MPEG settings to non-standard settings. You can do it with TMPGEnc encoder for one by using a preset template. But it may not play on most set top players. The KVCD/KDVD subject has been discussed many times on our site. Try it if you like, but don't expect miracles. I would use Divx/Xvid instead.

Along with a Divx capable DVD player. That's the best way to get more video on a DVD, if that's your goal.

I notice that KVCD.org is no more. I suspect the availability of lower cost Divx set top players may have something to do with that. KVCD still seems to be somewhat popular in parts of the world where DVD burners and media are relatively expensive and CDs and CD drives are more common.

I haven't compared a 700MB Xvid movie to the same using KDVD, but I suspect Xvid will win out for quality and definitely for compatibility with more set top players.

I don't have (2) versions of the same video in the different formats , xvid & kvcd format..

I do have several action videos in kvcd format, and the quality is NOT as high as a action video in xvid format of similar running time & file size
