I'd like to spend more time watching movies and stuff on TV than in front of my PC. Sure, I like to work on my PC, too, but I don't want to spend my life in front of my PC. I don't want to watch Movies/TV on my PC. I have a large screen HD TV with expensive surround sound for that.

My question is this: How can I speed up and simplify downloading, converting, and copying to DVD for watching good quality movies with my standalone DVD player? What is the BEST software to do this? There is too much software which takes too much time to accomplish any of this. I'm just looking for some relief.

  2. Buy a Divx certified DVD player. No conversion necessary for most files.

...or, if it's available, buy it at your local video shop (or elsewhere), in a format your DVD player handles.
