  1. Wasn't sure exactly where to put this so i put it here...

i have on of those small digital videos cameras from PUREDIGITAL Technologies.
Its like 4 inches tall by 2 inches wide.. 3/4s of an inch thick.. It allows you to record 30 minutes of video and has a USB jack right on the side to connect to the computer. (just a little info so you know what im talking about..)

Now after i transfer the video to my computer, and try to burn it. I use ConvertXtoDVD. just always have and nevers has audio sync errors. Now when i go to burn one of the videos from the camera it doesn't work.. the picture on convertX looks likes its just skipping but backwards. so it doesnt really move. then the time remaining to convert shows like 100 hours or more. and you see sync errors and such popping up in the information.

The video files that come out of the camera are AVIs. anyone know if their is a better program to use with this camera? please let me know.

    ThanX

The first question I would be asking is why has it stopped working ?

What has changed to make ConvertXtoDVD stop processing the video ?

Have you updated ConvertXtoDVD Recently ?

Have you installed any codec packs or updated any codecs ?

Do you use FFDShow, and have you updated it recently if you do ?

Can you post a g-spot of one of the avi files so we can see what sort of codecs it actually uses ?

If you had a working solution, you would be better off trying to get it working again, rather than looking for a new solution when frankly, if you want one-click, the alternatives come a poor second to what you have.

OK late update of ConvertXtoDVD would work fo me (It would burn the DVD and it looked like there was information on the disc, but wouldnt play in my DVD player or Computer. and that with any video i burned) .. right now i have version 2.0.17.138

Now everyhting else i burn works fine. it just from this camera that wont.

i havent installed any codecs as of lately... i use to have FFDsow. Not sure if its stil installed or not. ill have to check..

and i will get G-spot again, use to have it but gone now. and run one of the files through it. then i will post it..

    ThanX so far..

I wouldn't use ConvertXtoDVD to burn for the moment. Just run a conversion to your HDD, then see what you get when you try to play it back from there. If you can, uninstall the current version, and install the last version that you know worked for you.

By your "skipping" description possibly a frame rate issue, does it have a selection for frame rates? I don't know how well covertx handles odd frame rates but if your feeding it a odd frame rate it may be choking on that.

G-Spot should tell you what they are now.

The frames definitly look choppy.. and im not sure the frame rate. i gotta check that out.

and guns1inger i did get rid of the version that didnt work for me and went back to the one that worked. The on above is the one that works for me. But this is the first time trying to burn videos from this Camera so im not sure. Frames rate seems to be one of the things wrong. i gotta find where i put the videos files then ill load them up and see what happens. i write back after i do that..

I am assuming this is the camera in question ?

In which case you are shooting progressive - so field order isn't the issue - but at 30 fps. Conversion to DVD will cause some stuttering simply because some frames will have to be dropped. If ConvertXtoDVD sees it as 30 fps and encodes to 29.97 then this should be subtle, but if it tries to encode to 23.976 because it is progressive then it will be horrible.

If it is under 2mb you can upload it to videohelp as an attachment to you post - you may have to zip it first.

    Otherwise try http://wikiupload.com/ or rapidshare.com
