WMV files would suddenly close in the middle of playing, it said I had to upgrade the DivX Player and so I did, but now when some of the more recent videos play on Windows Media Player, only the audio plays and no video shows up on the screen.

However, the older videos on my computer seem to work just fine.

What do you think is causing this?

Use VLC. WMP is one of the worst players to use for pretty much anything.

That's a nice suggestion, but I intended to use those clips to create videos on Windows Movie Maker, and the only option I know of right now is to convert the FLVs on my other computer than put the WMVs back onto this one for use, since the WMM on he other computer doesn't work............

    ..............

.......Did I just answer my own question just now?

Have you tried converting to WMV with Windows Media Encoder (or even SUPER) ?

Actually, yeah I have been converting them to SUPER, but on the main computer, but when I tried using SUPER on this one, the player would close down at some point, with a report saying the problem was with DivX and required an upgrade.

So i decided to download the upgrade to DivX as it said, but that was when the problem for the video not showing up on the more recent files, and only the audio coming out.
