Hi,
I want to get a legal DVD onto my hard drive, because my laptop (Thinkpad X60) does not have a DVD drive. I've tried making an image using ImgBurn and MagicISO multiples times each, then mounting the image with either MagicISO or Daemon Tools, and then playing the drive with either VLC or MPClassic. In all cases, the video is very choppy with lots of distortion, and about half the screen is just fuzz. In addition, in VLC, an extra output screen pops up (blank).
Is it possible that the disc (~2003/2004 TV DVD) is protected against this (in MPClassic, the copywrite warning screens show up unlatered; in VLC they don't show up at all)? Is there anything else I should try?
Also, am I going about this the wrong way? Should I maybe create an AVI directly from the dvd or something (although it's a TV disc, so there are multiple episodes on each disc)?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Mike

If your computer doesn't have a DVD drive how are you getting the DVD onto your computer?

Rip to your hard drive with DVDFab Decrypter, as either iso or files and then, if iso, mount with Daemon Tools and play, if files, simply play. Any problems with playback and it is likely to be your player and not the image on the hard drive.
