Hi there, I'm new to this forum... and I decided to join because I am having problems encoding a video I downloaded off of youtube... so I need some help..

I used videodownloader, and downloaded in my firefox browser.. followed the steps and changed the extension to .flv...

Then I downloaded Riva FLV encoder, as recommended.. Didn't work.. I tried avi.. mpg.. mpeg.. etc.. but it was either.. just the audio.. or just the video..

I thought if I could at least get both.. then It wouldn't matter. I could just throw them in my editing software and line them up.. Didn't work.. They are both the exact same length, but for some reason.. the audio starts off lined up and then just gets worse as the video goes on..

Then I downloaded SUPER.. which was also recommended.. I followed the tutorial.. and couldn't figure out where my files were going.. so I kept trying to use Riva, without success.. I couldn't find any help on the Riva website..

    So I came here..

They make it sound so easy to download videos off of youtube.. but so far this is difficult and frustrating.

CAN someone PLEASE tell me what am I doing wrong??

super will let you choose the location for output, BUT the default is a folder named output located in the super-program folder

    c/programs/eright/super/output

YouTube vids are NOT meant to be "quality" to say the least. You are better off just enjoying them on FLVPlayer on your computer.
