Well I finally got a used PS2 this morning. There was a community sale nearby and I got the console used for just $60! They are $90 used at EBGAMES.

I went and bought Guitar Hero 2 with the controller and the game. THIS THING ROCKS!!! I played about an hour straight when I first plugged it in

I'll probably pick up Guitar Hero one game disc too. I'm also looking at getting GOD OF WAR for the PS2.

What other "must have" ps2 games are out there?
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

    heh...
My sister just got it for her 360 and can't stop talking about how cool it is.
Seriously, it's just Simon with a couple extra colors...
    :P

Must have PS2 games? I'm sure many would say Gran Turismo....
Red Faction was the shiznit. Half Life kicked major ass. I can't believe how much time I've wasted playing Burnout Revenge and Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2.
Both of the Maximo games are a blast.
But God Of War is MUST HAVE for PS2. I guess the 2nd one rawks too, but I haven't played it.

I will be checking out God of War soon....

I don't know about Gran Turismo - what about Grand Theft Auto? I've never played any of them.

    My PS2 favorites:

Gran Turismo series; though if you only get one then get the last one since you aren't really missing anything from GT3.

Final Fantasy series; I have to admit that I did enjoy X and X-2, though X-2 got to be annoyingly difficult near the end. I haven't had the chance to try XII yet.

Grand Theft Auto 3 series; do them all in order: GTA3, GTA: Vice City, then GTA: San Andreas. I think you'd get overwhelmed if you tried starting in any other order since each one has more content the its predecessor. There is a lot of gameplay across these three titles.

Ace Combat series; I got hooked bad with AC4. It had the most bizarre storyline connecting everything that made me crave the next FMV. AC5 had a little more disjointed storyline but by then I was addicted to the gameplay. The graphics on these are surprisingly good, especially the aircraft models. Unlockable aircraft and paint jobs make it fun to replay. The most recent release, AC:Zero, is a short prequel to AC5 but its career mode makes it tough to unlock everything.

Need for Speed series; Hot Pursuit 2 allows you to pilot the exotics not found in Gran Turismo like Ferraris, Porsches, and McLarens. The pursuit modes are also a lot of fun. This can be a fun multiplayer game as well. The NFS:Underground series I didn't like as much but it was OK.

WRC; my penchant for motorsport, rally in particular, drew me to this game. I also had a hand in its availability here in the Colonies. Tough game to master and probably not the top of the list for most gamers unless you like racing sims.

You just now gotten a PS2 Yoda? Shame on the Jedi Master :P

The FF series is my favorite type games of all...i've beaten X, havent finished X-2 yet (having a tough time getting into the game).

I just finished FF XII and it was pretty good, and I like the battle system too....though I know RPG's arent for everyone lol. I also liked the DBZ Budokai Tenchiachi games too.

As for GTA....yeah a truly 'R' rated game lol as my brother had the latest one for PS2.
I have the staff of power, now it's up to me to use it to its full potential to command my life and be successful.

I had an xbox 1 before. That was my main "next gen" console of that vintage. THen I traded it in so I could buy my dvd recorder last year.

Then I got my Nintendo Wii last fall so I really didn't need another console - not to mention my new hp computer this spring. But I didn't want to wait until this fall for Guitar Hero 3 to come out for the WII so I finally went ahead and did it.

I just finished three songs in hard mode!!! (well ok only like 70% points wise but I completed the full length of the song ).

That is so hard. but I'm starting to get a feel for sliding my hand back and forth. This is sweet

I'm gonna have to pick up GUITAR HERO 1 for more songs - but I love Guitar Hero 2.

My favorite is SWEET CHILD O MINE - I just rock with that!!!
