For AGES I've run some downloaded TV episodes through my TV using the S-video out on my laptop. It has always worked just fine.
Last night, though, I tried to do this and couldn't get it to work all of the sudden. The desktop still shows up on the TV, as does the window the video plays in. But in the window on the TV I get no video (it does show up on the laptop, though).
I've also tried it with videos that have worked in the past, and the same thing happens (they don't work either). I'm at a loss to what has changed that would cause this.
I use the VLC media player for running the videos. I updated it to the newest version (in hopes of resetting anything that might have changed somehow) but to no avail.
Does anyone have any idea what might be going wrong, and what I can change to fix it?
Thanks!
Todd

Overlay problem. Try set the svideo to the primary monitor or check for other overlay settings under your graphic card display settings. Search for overlay for more tips.
