i was just wondering if the "X" on dvd-+r's matter??
in other words if i have dvd+r from verbatim at 4X would t be just as comparable to the same dvd+r verbatim at 16X????
i notice the higher the burn speed on dvd-+r's the more the cost so i was wondering if the cost difference is worth it.....
any answers out there or thoughts on it

southrngntlmn,
It depends on how fast you need to burn. If you're going to burn at 4x, there isn't much benefit to using media rated at 16x.
The reason the 16x costs more has to do with the dye required to handle the increased laser power for a faster burn. The dye has to be more sensitive to the laser, yet more resistant to thermal interference. Such a dye is more expensive, so they charge more for a disk that uses it.
