Noticed the TRV480 has no microphone in jack, so wondering what are my options. Trying to convert old Super 8 real to real sound movies to a Camcorder Tape as the 1st step of going to a DVD. But if I film the video how can I get the audio recorded without hearing the movie projector noise? If I plug in the TRV480 cable for audio only will the camera be smart enough to take that audio while recording the video that the camera is capturing? Or is their another solution? Bought this camera for this purpose, can't believe it doesn't have a microphone jack?

Record sound from the mic while capturing. Record the audio track separately to a tape or directly to the computer. Then manually sync the recorded audio track during editing. This will be easier if your editor shows audio waveforms.

Thanks I would like to record the audio from the built in microphone if I could figure out how to limit the projector noise. To probably capture the video from a small condensed square though I need to have the camera too close to the projector. Thanks for your thoughts.

You won't get rid of the projector noise but the clicks will provide frame marks to help sync audio from the good track. Most consumer editors support separate audio tracks.
