    Anyone have any ideas how can I Rip a dvd movie to avi with x264 codec? P.S. Also another programm whch will be able to resize the file if it's too big.

    I used automkv and all i got is a .mkv file not an .avi file....

    mkv and mp4 are much better for x264 video...what is your goal with the video? play on your computer?

    My goal is .avi with a x264 codec which can be playable on my computer and dvd player.

    I am not aware of any DVD players that can handle a x264 avi. Go with the above and stick with mp4 or mkv as a container. If you want an avi for SAP compatibility, then stick with Xvid or DivX.

    See the thing is that divx avi with a resolution above 700 and my dvd doesnt display it right it has it's problems. But when it's a x264 avi everything is fine.
