Ok, I've searched, but I haven't found a thread that fits exactly with what I'm trying to accomplish.

I have a DVD that has Japanese audio along with English and Chinese subtitles. I want to take the English subtitles, fix some grammar mistakes, and then reinsert the edited subtitles with the original menu intact(subtitles can still be selected via menu).

Is this possible? If so, what software can make it happen?

If not, what is the next best thing, and what software is recommended?

  2. Hi-

    Is this possible?

Yes, but how easy it is, or even if you'll be able to do it, depends on whether or not you've had any experience.

    Demux (PGCDemux)
OCR the subs into some kind of text format (I use SSA).
Edit the subs (I use SubStation Alpha)
Convert the SSA subs to SUP format subs (I go the MaestroSBT->Son2VSub->SubToSUP route)
    Remux (Muxman)
Stick the new DVD with edited subs back into the original DVD using the "Replace" button of VobBlanker.
