  1. Ave,

Well I have a PAL DVD (region free), and I want to convert it to NTSC DVD. I can rip out the Videos and convert the AVI's to NTSC using Canopus or other solutions - but the problem is, I don't want to reencode as there's Chapters & Menus & things which i'd like to retain as is.

Is there a method to convert a PAL DVD to an NTSC DVD "As-Is" without having to reauthor the menus & chapters & all?

    Thanks!

No you have to convert the menus to NTSC as well. The celltimes have to be adjusted for 29.97fps playback.

There are hacks out there where you can trick your dvd player into thinking it's NTSC, but it don't work on all players and that's all it is - a hack. It doesn't make it a true NTSC DVD.

Convertx won't keep your original menus or celltimes.
