  1. hi,

im trying to convert a VIDEO_TS file into and avi file so i can upload it onto my website. i tried using ffmpex however it tells me that i cannot use an encrypted dvd due to copyright issues. this is my own dvd that i want to convert. so, can anyone suggest either a way to get around this in ffmpefx or another piece of free softwear that will do this task.

    cheers

www.mactheripper.org, my friend. Use it to create a decripted VIDEO_TS file. Then, put the new file through ffmpegx to make your .avi. Enjoy!

True, ffmpegX will not read DVD from optical discs, but it will read from not-encrypted VIDEO_TS folders on a hard disk.

Or from the not-encrypted Video_TS folder, use
    MpegStreamclip, or VisualHub.
