  1. Hi There, first time post, long time reader, hehe.

I was reading up on my dvd player (JVC XV-521bk) and i noticed someone got a SVCD to play by using a forced mpeg1 vcd header. How does one go about doing that??

    Thanks,
    kakk

  2. Demultiplex it and then have TMPGEnc multiplex it as a non-standard videoCD.

  3. Kin, are you sure? I just did this and the muliplexed MPG showed garbage.

I'm new to this so I'm taking the longer approach of converting mpg2 to mpg1 via Flask MPEG (I'm sure there are better ones out there I haven't got to yet.) I played around with a few MPG2 and got it working except the audio and video are off by 5-10 seconds. Hmm...more experiment.

  4. Well no-one ever guaranteed it would work...even as hacks go this one is pretty far out there.

  5. Maybe what they ment was burn the SVCD using the MPEGAV folder instead of the standard MPEG2 folder ? some DVD Players do have that "bug" in them
