Hello All,

From what I read on this excellent site, and various user reviews, there's hardly a dvd recorder that won't give trouble. All I want is a recorder without a hard drive, that's easy to use, and gives a good picture.

I have a Philips TV and a Humax Freeview digital box so I thought that the choice would be simple enough. But no. In addition to the reliability problems the complexity of the various scart, etc,connections and the various formats is rather baffling too.

I won't be doing anything fancy, just recording odd programs to discs which I'll then bung on a shelf till I'm ready to watch them. So advice on something straightforward and durable would be most welcome. I'm getting scared to make up my own mind..........
