I just got my new HC5 but haven't really shot anything in broad daylight yet to experiment with. Has anyone gotten good results crushing their HDV 16:9 down to a small 16:9 wmv for the internet, yet?
    Workflow?
    Options?
    Demo Clips?
    Comments?
    Thanks

640x360 @490k .... sweet spot IMO, Decent size, practically no artifacting, and your still within reach of higher end DSL connections for streaming.

It's not from a HDV cam though, Canon GL2 and it's a little dark. I could argue with those light guys all night and they still want to turn the red up to high so everything flares and the white to nothing so you can't see anything.

It's glare on the lens the guy tells me, trust me I have camcorder....

Input quality is important, when you have a really clean source like that example the results can be great. If you look at still frmes from that cam it's amazing how clean it is. Here's a comaprison to MPEG, DV on the left.

Here's the full frame from the DV file:

You would save a load of processing at small quality reduction by starting with the hardware downscaled DV export to a DV-AVI file.
