Let's say your not home so you set your TIVO to record. Is there any any loss of guilty in the picture at all. I want to get Dishnetwork they have there own brand of Satilite box's. I know even with SVHS there is a very small loss of picture quilty. So I want to get the very best of of satilite dish

I have DishNetwork, but don't have the "PVR" digital recorder (thought about it though). I know the digital recorders have varying, selectable levels of quality (better = more disk space used/less total time you can record). I would imagine at the highest settings, the quality loss is not noticeable.
One question I would add to yours is: do satellite broadcasts use any sort of copy-protection? I wonder most about the pay-per-view channels. I saw something on the Macrovision website about it being used in satellite receivers.
