Is it possible to back-up a blue-ray movie. If not when will it be possible--if ever?

I don't really keep up with this topic as I have neither a player nor a burner and probably won't for quite some time, but it appears that it is only a matter of time before this is possible. The biggest problem right now is a lack of BluRay authoring tools. -
