    Looking for a guide that will show me how to write two, or, movies to a dvd double layer disc. For example the main title disc, plus the extras disc from the new Disney "Platinum Edition" release of Peter Pan.

    I have the following equipment;
    Lite-On SOHC 5236V (CD-RW/DVD -ROM)
    LG HL DL ST DVDRAM GSA H42N CD-RW/DVDRW)
    And the following programs:
    DVD Decyrpter 3.5.4
    AnyDVD 6.1.2.3
    Nero 7.7.5.1
    CloneDVD2 2.8.8.2
    ConvertXtoDVD 2.1.12.214
    FairUseWizard 2.4

    Mainly use Nero, or, CloneDVD2, with AnyDVD to make back ups of DVDs to regular DVDs, but am open to using any of the above, (or, even other programs, if necessary.)
    Thanks to any and all who help.

  2. DVDShrink can it. Open 2 DVDs, and drag the main movie into the re-author window.

    Guiboche;

    please expand on your answer. I think you're saying that if I open each in DVD shrink, but use the re-author option on one, then have whatever writing program I use (Nero, DVDDecryper,) finish the job. Making sure the writing program is set to DVD-9 (double layer discs.) But like to make sure, before I try it.

  4. 1.Rip each disc to a seperate folder with DVDDecrypter ->File Mode.
    2.Use DVDShrink ->Re-author and drag the titles you want to the left window.
    3.In Edit->Preferences make sure to set target size to DVD-9.
    4.Hit Backup and select "Save to ISO image and burn with DVDDecrypter".
    DVDShrink cannot make menus,if you want a menu use TDA to author.

    Moviegeek;

    Thank you for expanding on Guiboche's answer. The process is now more clear. I forgot to mention that I have both TMPGEncoder, and TMPG DVD Author, among my tools for creating DVDs.

    Now I just have to sit down, try what you suggest, and, see how it works.

  6. Just to elaborate on MOVIEGEEK's answer...

    Both movies have to be pre-ripped to the harddrive (file or ISO mode).

    Load one of them into DVDShrink, and in Re-Author mode, drag the movies you want into the backup box.

    Open your next dvd (the files you put in the re-author will stay there). From the new opened dvd, drag the files you want into the re-author.

    Press backup. It will create a video-only DVD with no menus....

    Just remember if you use Shrink to re- author,you will lose the menus..

    To all that replied to my question;
    thanks.

    It appears that I have successfully made a "back up" to a DVD+DL, with menus, of a two disc, 15 chapter, 1940's Saturday Matinee movie serial cliffhanger, using the DVDDecypter/TMPG DVD Author method. When I first attempted this, I didn't understand I had to open the file in order to "drag" it to the left window in DVDShrink, but then I re-read a guide to writing multiple titles to one disc, and then understood that. I didn't follow up using the Shrink method, because it would've resulted in no menu's at all, especially since it seemed to reject processing them in any case, even as "stills."

    So now that I understand what I'm doing, any time I want to make a "back up" of a two disc set on to one DVD DL, I'll follow this method. (DVDDeCrypter-TMPG DVD Author.)
