Can't find the Pioneer 640H-S anywhere (Vancouver, Canada) but our local Costcos carry the stripped down version called the 540H-S... same unit except 80GB instead of 160GB and no direct-print USB connectors...
Anyways... I know that sooner or later I'll want to increase the HD capacity... heck, I would probably want to do that with the 640H-S also... I always record at max quality and that means about 17 hrs with 80GB... 4-5 Hockey games and I'd have to dump to DVD...
Anything to watch out for? Will the built-in ROM routines in the Pioneer choke and complain at not having the expected 80GB drive in there? The hardware part of the swap would be easy for me...it's other "gotchas" that worry me.
Any nuggets of wisdom--especially from those of you who have modded this or any other unit--would be most welcome.
