Hi

For years now I've happily been playing all of my videos from my computer on my XCard through to my TV. This has been a brilliant solution, having playlists so I can just select all of the files I want, and also being able to quickly check on the computer screen the time remaining, etc. One of the main things is that I've also been able to work on my computer whilst having something playing on my TV (eg, I've not had to play the video full screen).

Now I'm upgrading to Vista, and the XCard no longer works. I know that TVedia 4.2 will stil support it, but I just can;t seem to use it properly (embarrassing as it may seem). Plus I really probably should upgrade my hardware to something a bit more futureproof (which I waill be doing for my upgrade to Vista anyway). I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions, the main thing I'd like to be able to do is still use my computer whilst working (so nothing that will take up the whole screen, and also be able to queue a playlist up. Being able to see how long is left of the video would be nice, but not essential.

I know that there is the TV-Out function in a graphics card, but at the moment I;m unable to get that to work with Vista, and not sure how to get it so it only outputs to the tv screen, and not the computer monitor too.

Thank you for any help you can give me.
