I was ripping the metallica cunning stunts dvd and after ripping the first track and while doing the dvd2avi I noticed that it flips back and forth from film to ntsc in the video, but the audio is ok. is this some kind of encoding so you can't copy it?? the other ones that I have don't do this. this is the only one in the collection that jumps back and forth in the video and it looks like regular concert footage when you play it. any ideas????

hrm?
do you mean the source video jumps back from pure FILM to pure NTSC or is there a percentage of both (i.e. 30% FILM 70% NTSC)?
however, from the look of things, you prolly can't use FORCED FILM in dvd2avi. rather, turn off FORCED FILM in dvd2avi, and make your output video in tmpgenc interlaced rather than 3:2 pulldown. -
That is correct is does jump back and forth with numbers that go from say 80/20 or maybe 75/25. This is one odd disc, you should see it after it has run through the dvd2avi, looks like crap.
