  1. I just wasted 2 dvd-r's...using the most lame dvd authoring program that came with the drive NeoDVD standard..(It's garbage...not worth the space on anyone's hd)...Okay so checkout my scenario..

I did this kickass dvd of an outtaprint vhs tape...using SonicDVDit! PE 2.5 program...it's cool...alittle buggy @times but good..anyways...I made one dvd-r..came out perfect..now..I want to make copies of the same dvd-r wihout having to go through sonicdvdit! everytime..so I tried using the Dvd copy Nero guide...doesnt work for me...for some reason I dont get the ok button to work..cause it's not reading the speed of my dvd-r recorder..(and I'm using an external Que! drive..which gets recognized as a pioneer dvd-r drive)...

does anyone have any suggestions on a STABLE dvd copy program that I can use without getting the coasters?

    thanks alot,

    David

  2. I use Prassi Primo DVD to make all my Data-DVDs and to copy DVDs. It's very easy to use. Just copy the 2 folders from your original DVD (Audio_TS & Video_TS) to your hard drive. Then put the folders into the layout of a Data DVD project in Prassi and burn! DOn't forget to put AUDIO_TS in the new layout, even if the folder is empty! Just to make sure everything goes fine I always make sure the volume name of the new DVD is exactly the same as the volume name of the original DVD. I don'tr think this really matters when your making a copy of a home made DVDs, but when I made a clone of rented DVDs a few would only play on my computer and not my set-top DVD played because the volume name was exact. Hope this helps, and I hope Prassi works with your drive, I'm using a Pioneer A03.

  3. I've used the Instant DVD/CD application that comes with the Pioneer drive in the UK for making copies of home made DVD-R. It works fine as long as I manually select the DVD profile. If I leave it set to auto select the appropriate format it fails. It could be as simple as that David4real.

Failing that, copy the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders to your hard drive, put the blank DVD-R disc in, select DVD UDF and copy the folders to the blank using your NeoDVD in the same you would normally drag and drop files to the disc. That also works under Instant DVD/CD so I would think it would work with your package. As long as the original disc is less than the 4.7Gb of a DVD-R and is not encrypted it should work fine.
