Hi all, I am new and totally helpless!

I am trying to get a tv stream link to work on my WinXP but it won't but if i go to win98 and plays the link from the site, it plays. But in WinXP it tells me it doesnt support the protocol and i should try to use 'mms'. I don't know what it means. I am wondering if the file can't be played due to restrictions in the settings. It plays normally in Win98.

I hope you can help me. Thanks a lot

Its a site where u get all the local uk channels. My friend from UK is in Mauritius right now and she wants to buy it.

I have dual boot on my pc but my winxp partition is larger and is faster than win98 so i would really like to be able to play the sample in winxp.

Btw at work, i have winxp and the link works. So i dont know what is wrong with my xp at home. I am not really good with pcs...

mms is a transport protocol. Open WMP, goto to Tools / options and the network tab.

In the middle of the tab you will see the "Streaming proxy settings"
