I am also confused regarding formats supported by the DANSAI 852
what is VCD 3.0/CVD/DVCD/OKO. OK any guidence greatly appreciated

VCD3.0 = ?? VCD + Chinese specific extensions for education purposes, you can safely ignore this as you will probably never encounter a VCD3.0 disc and nor is there any way I know of (with commonly available tools) to make one
CVD = one of the precursors to SVCD (before standardisation) and was original developed by C-Cube I believe. It is similar to SVCD but there are some differences (e.g., the framesizes are 352x480/576 )
DVCD = ordinary VCD2.0 but a stamping trick allows > 90 min of capacity on the disc.
OKO = don't know
