Please go easy on me, as I'm a complete simpleton when it comes to computers.

I've just downloaded some videos off youtube and converted them to mpeg files.
I want to put them onto a DVD so I can play them on my regular TV with my DVD player.
I've tried just sticking a DVD into the drive and sending the video files to that drive, but it only gives me the option to write to CD.

Any idea what I can do?
Or are there special programs in which to make DVDs?

In general you can't just copy the video files to a DVD and have them play in a stand alone DVD player. They first need to be Authored. (There are exceptions for certain file types on certain players.) Several tools are available for authoring. I use TDA version 1.5, but there are many others. As for only getting the option to write to CD, I use imgburn for all of my burining needs. What model burner do you have?

well the youtube videos won't look real good blown up on your TV screen

but try downloading SUPER and converting them to mpeg1

then you can author/edit them using 'windows movie maker' it comes with XP, then you can burn the completed DVD files to a DVD and watch them on your TV
