    Hi everyone,

This is my first post here and I've registered because I'm frustrated with a problem that I can't get my head round! I hope someone can help me!

I'm using a Geforce FX5200 with VIVO and TV Tuner to capture video with windvr. I have no problems with sound, and if I hit record or take a screen shot, it works perfectly fine and saves the video so I can watch it after it's recorded.

However, I can't seem to be able to just watch the input as it comes in. The way I've seen it work before is that I could turn on windvr and just watch tv, or whatever source is coming in, but I can't seem to do that.

I've tried numerous older drivers and I'm currently running the latest nvidia drivers (84.21) and the latest wdm drivers (2.26).

If the problem was with a physical connection, then I wouldn't get anything when i hit record... but I do - which is why this problem is all the more confusing. Why am I able to capture the video and watch it later, but not monitor it as it comes in?

Thanks in advance for any help.

This is for anyone coming across this post via a web search. It's possible that there is other software accessing the overlay. The likes of Media Player Classic and other software can display videos at the same time as another video window, but WinDVR CANNOT. It needs to hog the overlay itself (sorry about the lack of technical detail). I suggest that your system is doing something behind the scenes like this, or the drivers are not installed correctly, or not talking nicely with WinDVR. You could try enabling then disabling and renabling 'Overlay' from the menu (right click on the main video window and choose Setup->Display

Go to setup, than open the Display Tab and make sure that the 'Enable Overlay' is checked
