I have have been using TMPGEnc 1.5 for about a year now to transfer my RAM recordings made on my Panny DMRES 10 onto a -R with good results.

I have just tried to use DVD Author Pro 2.1.5.77 to do the same process. I clicked on Start new project and the on the source wizard and under source selected the DVD-Video, DVD-VR, DVD_RAM. I then get a box saying the DVD you selected contains an unsupported audio stream. Supported audio are MPEG audio, linear PCM. When I click OK it lists the DVD-Video recording selection and the Title list I have on the disk. It says they are Dolby digital 4,800Hz, 2 ch stereo then on the right MPEG 2 704X576, 4:3

When I tick the selection box and click next the box comes up copying selected titles to hard drive and the progress bar goes from left to right. After it finishes there is no video in the size of output folder and when I click on the track settings there is no video available.

What am I doing wrong?? Any help appreciated.

Transfer the files to your HDD first then select "do not copy to hard drive" when it asks (stupid really as the program thinks you are transferring from the DVD-RAM) and then it should work okay. I use the native Panasonic Copy Tool to transfer program content to the hard drive. I tried other programs but this works best for me....

I have finally found some time to get back to this. Is there another free tool to transfer the panasonic Ram disk to the HD. I have Nero 7. Is the problem that the DVD Author Pro is not recognising the files but the 1.5 version was? As I mentioned above the files seem to have been transfered to the HD but were not showing in the settings or on the DVD size bar.
In your above answer do you mean that once the files are on the HD I should select files in the copy wizard? as you can see I'm confused.
