    Hi

This may seem like a bit of a newbie question but:

If i upgrade my premiere pro 1.5 and adobe after effects 5.5 to the most recent versions will it effect any of my exsisting premier pro and after effects files?

I want to upgrade as soon as possible but just want to make sure all the files will be safe and compatable.

    Thanks

    Matt

I used to use Premiere 6.0 and now have Premiere Pro 1.5 - it was claimed, though I don't believe I ever tried it out, that Premiere Pro 1.5 would support earlier versions.

I've never used After Effects, so can't comment.

I would expect this kind of thing to be in the FAQ's on the Adobe website somewhere, or at least for them to be able to answer through their customer support.

Another place to search / ask would be the forums at www.wrigleyvideo.com/videotutorial
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

    Carpe diem.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.

  3. You can open up all legacy projects from your old After Effects to a new one. Just be sure you have any third-party plug-ins installed to your updated version of After Effects.

Premiere Pro is a little different. I don't have any older projects then from version 1.5, but, if you reopen those projects in 2.0, all the audio will reconform itself AGAIN. Even if you already conformed it in 1.5.
