    Well , having such things as limewire , kazza , and other's is going to open a whole world of hurt , if your not carefull ... there junk infested .

    Then there's "avi" ... and a big diference between licensed wrapped or not ... you may never know till it's finished downloading if it can be played back or not ... if it is wrapped , and you dont have the required license , you wont beable to do squatt with it .

    Not to forget the different avi containers used today , just too add confusion ... Nor can you count on it , being quality .

    Baldrick has given you the simplest option ... then there's https://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=Avi2Dvd ... from then on , you'll need to learn more about video / audio type's and format's .

    ======================

    You need to know what your dvd player support's first before making the conversion choice .

    No sence in burning to + media type's if it dosent support them .

    For dvd , stick with dvd-r , burn at 4x , dont fit more than 4.3gig to each disc ... verbatim is a good choice and available almost anywhere off the shelf , unlike some that get mentioned in the forum .

    You didnt say what burning program your using ... have a look at https://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=ImgBurn .

    Between the three tool's mentioned by baldrick and myself , you should have atleast a good starting point for any newbie .

    Download film, you get a file, load that file into ConvertXtoDVD, convert it, burn to a blank DVD, insert into your DVD player, enjoy film.

    You need a blank DVD, not CD.
